China's foreign trade hit a new high in 2025, marking the ninth consecutive year of growth. According to customs statistics, the total import and export value of goods reached 45.47 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%. Exports grew by 6.1% to 26.99 trillion yuan, while imports rose by 0.5% to 18.48 trillion yuan. China is set to retain its position as the world's top goods trading nation.

Exports of high-tech products surged by 13.2%, driven by specialized equipment, high-end machine tools, and industrial robots. Notably, China became a net exporter of industrial robots. Green products like lithium batteries and wind turbines also saw strong export growth, advancing global green transitions.

Imports reached a record high, with China remaining the world's second-largest import market for 17 consecutive years. Successful events like the China International Import Expo and expanded market access contributed to this growth. Imports from over 130 countries and regions increased, with notable rises from Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

China's trade network continues to expand, with over 160 countries and regions as key partners. Trade with Belt and Road partner countries grew by 6.3%, accounting for 51.9% of total trade. Despite external challenges, China's resilient economy and proactive trade policies are expected to support stable growth.
